As a result of the new regulations on higher education in Sweden, by 2011 fall semester, international non-EU students will have to pay 265.000 SEK for Konstfack per academic year. In order to protest the main reasons and future consequences of the situation, some Konstfack students have come together under the name of "A.S.A.P" -as an allusion to urgency of the affair (as soon as possible)- and have been giving some lectures to professors on issues, organizing events and preparing manifestation. The activities of this week will end up with a party on Friday that we are organizing together (Fernanda Torre, me and Mariana Cabello and A.S.A.P) concerning and indicating the problems.

Experience Design students and OperaHögskolen students had an inspiring workshop with David Moss in Reactor Hall in KTH. There were several experiements included usage of voice limits, new verbal languages and body languages, gestures, collective experiences etc. At the end of the workshop we prepared two small pieces of experimental performance together.

Today EDG1 and EDG2 had a workshop with Japanese designer, artist and composer Yuri Suzuki. The theme of the workshop was "Utopia and Shelter". It was held in Reactor Hall in KTH (Tekniska Högskolan) where 'Future Experience of the Opera' lectures are being carried out. The main idea of the shelters was 'inflatability' which was applied with some special materials.

Me and Ceylan Erali wrote an objection paper against a currently announced industrial design competition in Turkey organized by a military defense appliance company. Our reaction was against the idea of the competition and its presentation/introduction to public rather than ethical issues of industrial design. It was apperantly a stimulation for young design students and professionals to compete in such a delicate subject. The paper was sent to ETMK (Industrial Designers' Association in Turkey) and some email groups in order to make people pay attention and rethink about the issue. The essay in Turkish can be read: here
